Add a search bar to a stacked list tutorial
Let people search the cards instead of scrolling the whole list.
Search is available on stacked list tutorials. When it is on, a search bar sits above the cards and the list narrows as the visitor types.
Turn it on
- 1Open the tutorial and go to Settings.
- 2Find the Search section and turn on Show a search bar.
- 3Save the tutorial, then publish it so the live page picks up the change.
How the matching works
- It searches each card's headline, its description and the text inside its Learn more panel.
- It matches word by word rather than as one exact phrase, so "change the filter" finds "Replace the filter".
- Headline matches rank above description matches, which rank above Learn more text.
- If nothing matches every word, the closest cards are shown instead of an empty page.
Search is a paid-plan feature and is not available on Basic. Step by step tutorials do not offer it, because they already walk the visitor through every card in order.
