Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to run Tutorials.app, nothing more. Here is exactly what that means in plain English.

Last updated September 10, 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Tutorials.app collects, why we collect it, and what choices you have. Tutorials.app is operated by Shift Enterprises, LLC, a Utah limited liability company.

We collect what we need to run the product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your tutorial content to advertise to you.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), account and team names, team member roles, and invitations you send.
  • Tutorial content: the text, images, videos, logos, brand colors, links and settings you add to your tutorials.
  • Request submissions: what your customers send you through a tutorial request form, which can include their name, email, a description, photos, and — only if they allow it — approximate location.
  • Usage data: pages and tutorials viewed, cards completed, requests submitted, buttons tapped, timestamps, device and browser type, and approximate region derived from an IP address.
  • Billing information: plan, subscription status and billing history. Card details are entered with our payment processor and are never stored on our systems.
  • Communications: messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

3. How we use information

  • To create and maintain your account and team, and to serve your published tutorials
  • To send transactional email: welcome messages, sign-in and password emails, team invitations, and notifications about new requests
  • To show you analytics about how your tutorials are performing
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions and prevent billing fraud
  • To provide support and respond to your questions
  • To keep the service secure, debug problems and improve features
  • To comply with legal obligations

5. When we share information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the product, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include our hosting and database provider, our payment processor, our transactional email provider, and AI model providers used by AI features.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — in which case we will let you know.

Request submissions are shared with the business that published the tutorial, and with the notification email addresses that business has configured.

6. Cookies and similar technology

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how tutorials are used. Essential cookies are required for the service to work. Analytics are first-party and aggregate; we do not run third-party advertising trackers. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features will stop working.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account and tutorial data for as long as your account is active. After an account is closed, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep records for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Analytics events are retained in aggregate form.

8. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, row-level access controls in our database, hashed passwords, and role-based access within teams. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit risk and will notify you of a breach affecting your data as required by law.

9. Your rights and choices

  • Access, correct or update your account information from your profile page
  • Export or request a copy of your data by emailing us
  • Delete your account and the content in it — email us and we will process the request
  • Turn off request notification emails for a tutorial in its settings
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent, where privacy laws give you that right
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

If your customers submitted requests to a business using Tutorials.app, that business controls those submissions — contact them directly, or reach us and we will help route the request.

10. Children

Tutorials.app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the product changes. When a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the product. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version.
